I was sitting a stop light the other night, and unprovokedly, my gauge lights died. When I turned the **** all the way to the left, my feet/head lights still popped on... But today they have crapped out on me as well.
Anyone else encountered this nonsense?
Also, just finished replacing all the weatherstripping today (Corvette Rubber)... took me two solid days and I still have gaps in the corners of the window seals >_<
The headlight switch rheostat for the interior lights "dimmer" has bit the dust. Most likely time for a new headlight switch.
Installing those seals...and getting them right...is not an easy process. I'm amazed that those "kits" don't all come with a DVD of instructions on HOW to do that job and get it right.
Changing the headlight switch ...is the rheostat included in the switch? So if I've replaced the switch then the rheostat isn't the problem???
Inconsistent headlights, No dash and no tail lights...They worked for a min after replacing the switch but then the fuse blew...and blew again after we put a new fuse in...

I'm having somewhat of the same problem with my 74 vette.. My guages work but the lights are out. While driving if I hit any little type of bump my gauge lights will come on and off. Which leads me to believe it's a ground issue but I can't find it can you help???

See the light!
Tail light fuse feeds the headlight rheostat.
Jumper from "Courtesy" light fuse to "Instrument" light fuse.
If the dash bulbs light up the rheostat in the headlight switch is bad.
Lights blinking:
The center gauge cluster and wiper switch (on a 74) ground through the center terminal of the "Water Temp gauge". The other end of that 14 gauge black wire connects just above the bottom of the left dash, Check that its good.
