82 vette-30 amp fuse melted
Hi,
I have an 82 vette-There is a 30 amp fuse for the defogger. It melted while in the fuse box. What would cause that? Is it because I used a regular 30 amp fuse and not the required 30 Amp AGC fuse. What is an AGC fuse and what does it look like? I do not know much about cars and believe I made an error. Thanks

Was this melting a quick thing or did you just find it that way one day. I find them partially melted fairly often but I'm sure that is from being forced on beond the 10 min timer for extended times.
In 81 they had a 35 amp circuit breaker for the rear defog.
Easy Mike the relay in 82 is more of a timer (thats what GM calls it)but the heavy load still goes through the fuse.
