TH400 Vacuum tube

Does anyone have a good pic of where the vacuum tube for the TH400 runs? How is it supported? Is the tapered end at the tranny or at the manifold? I cant seem to get it to fit naturally..

Cruise-In II Veteran

Runs from the modulator along the tranny; tab connects to one bellhousing bolt, them comes up by the distributor and over to the intake manifold vacuum fitting. Plugs into the fitting and uses a piece of hose over the joint.

TH400 Vacuum Tube Routing

Here are some pictures of my 73 from it going back together. The fat end goes down into the diaphram at the tranny on the passenger side and the narrow end at the carb. There is an eyelet that you use to bolt the tube to the firewall. Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you pictures from mine going back together. Mike

I only have pics. of my '77. You can see it here under the dist. advance, inserted vertically. The tube inserts into the fitting, the short rubber hose provides the seal. mike...

The AIM for your year car will show the shape and layout of the modulator pipe.
