I have an 1982 I'm doing a frame off and I'm installing a zz4 create engine, I would like to remove the computer and all of it's wiring? If so does the computer have anything to do with the transmission?
The computer controls the lock up for the torque converter. There are a number of other ways to do that though. By removing the crossfire, your computer won't do anything anyways so you might just as well go ahead and remove it.

As long as there are people out there hacking and chopping these cars up, there will be plenty of work for those of us who charge a lot of money to put 'em back to stock again... Looks like I'll have a customer for this '82 Crossfire system and ECM some day, and the price just went up.
