Trying to get the car started today. I need to know what wires need to be on the coil of my 74.
Right now I have that little resistor conencted to the coil hooked to the positive.
My distributor has a black and a red wire..
And I have two wires coming fro the firewall at about the wiper motor. One is and RED and the Other is back both crimped to the end of a open ended terminal. (C Terminal) I dont recall if they were on the positive or negative side of the coil. I imagine these are not the original wires....

There is a single black wire coming from your distributor. It goes to the "-" side of the coil. The wire in your engine wire harness should have 2 wires crimped together in a "C" terminal, and that goes to the "+" side of the coil. The ballast resistor on the side of your coil is just there for radio interference suppression, and it goes to the "+" side. If you have any other wires, or any "red" wire coming out of your distributor, you have some aftermarket conversion that you will have to identify and find the instructions for...
The red and black coming from the dist "sounds" like a Pertronix , if so the black goes to the neg side of coil and the red goes to the pos.
If the 2 wires in the C terminal are stock you might want to go to the Pertronix website, some of the Pertronix units don't use the stock resistor wire that is in the C term.
