Thanks Oliver, that sure looks nice!
Do you have any pictures that shows in detail?
I realize it might be more difficult to a 1980 due to the extended nose.

That's the only pic I have. Currently - I removed the open/close mechanism which is actually a convertible top opener/closer. The opener/closer didn't work when I got the Vette. I still have to decide if I will get a new opener/closer or if I will use a mechanical hood support... A complete opener/closer mechanism costs approx. $500.. I will probably go with a mechanical one. Currently I use a pole to keep the hood open...
What details would you like to see? I could make some photos on the weekend..
nice thing there, when I repaint my car someday, that's what I want to do also...yes need detailed pix of the front hinge area....very interested in the mods for mounting....a pole to hold it works for me, as it saves weight and complexity....

Here is a pic of the setup:
There is a frame extention. The tilt front is held by 2 bolts that connect the tilt front with the frame extention!
I'm interested in how the front is separated (cut) from the body.
And routing of electrical/vacuum.
I see both of you has a L shaped cut, my thought was to use only a horizontal cut all the way to the door.
Anyone who has pictures of a car with the fender removed?
