Default Hanging Plug

I need some help. I noticed a round plug hanging in the drivers side of my engine comparment. The two wires are Yellow and Black. the plug is round and the female Slots look like (l -). I am not sure where this plug goes. Maybe an Oxygen sensor???? I would appreciate any help. the engine is an L-48, 1975 Corvette Convertible. If you know, please email me at: alankirsh@gmail.com.

Thank you

Can you post a photo? Is your car a automatic or manual.

No O2 sensor on a 75. Try the theft alarm switch.

The way that you have described the plug end its sounds very much like the plug for the transmission kick down. The line would have to be long enough to reach the middle of the transmission. The wires on my 71 kick down are orange and black but the orange turns yellowish after years of being exposed to heat.

Could be for the small black anti tamper switch for the fender alarm key switch.
The alarm would still work fine as long as nothing is plugged into the 2 wires.
Look at this thread,it shows the little switch, same switch used in the headlight doors.

Rodger, that's sounds a lot more likely than the transmission "kickdown" but I believe the spades are the same.
