2-Tone 74 Interior
I have a 74 Vert with an all red gut. I was thinking of replacing the dash pad with a black one, and changing out the wind shield paded trim with black and going with a black carpet. So basically, all vertical pieces will be red, and the horizontal pieces will be black.
Pics? Thoughts?
P.S. Most of that modern "black dash" scheme is to save money for the manufacturers and for visual 'safety' of having a matte black dash to look over (less reflections).
Then I saw what its going to cost just to get a different color.. Holy cow..

It's a driver, so I'm not concerned with NCRS resto, etc.
I took the wood tone off the center console and painted the pot metal black after taping off all the chrome. I took the wood tone off the door panels and replaced with black carbon fiber tape and plan on putting black carpet on the lower half of the door panels. (now it's red vinyl as I took the orange carpet off).
I decided not to replace the dash pad or change the center console, etc. I left the trim for the rear cargo door red to set it off and installed single retractor seat belts from a '97 Firebird. Not sure about the trim on the rear cargo doors - may change to black and dye the t-top straps black. Opinions on that welcome.
The after pictures look orange - it's as red as the others, it's just the iPhone camera and not the Canon camera.
Next step is to buy new foams and covers for the seats - debating whether to go with all black, all red, or two-tone black and red.
I wanted to break up the red interior too and figured as I had quite a bit to do I would jump in.
