Is the purple wire still purple at the starter or is it in some sort of big connection? Either I have my connections wrong or the starter isn't connected with the purple wire.
Checked it all out, the solid purple wire is connected to the starter. Double checked my connections. Applied 12v to that wire and the starter cranked a bit. At least I know that wire is properly connected. Is there a way to check if its the ignition switch or neutral safety switch?
Tried tester light on the purple wire with a white line coming from the ignition switch. It has current when I move the key to the 'start' position. I check the solid purple wire, no current. Car is in park. My guess is the neutral safety switch is bad?

Yep , sounds like the switch is bad IF it is adjusted properly. Did you try turning the key to START and then moving the shift lever to other gears ? Be ready in case it starts in gear !
I'll be sure to try it in a while, right now my 6 year old sister and cousins are running around the car. Don't want to risk anything there. I'll give it a few minutes so they tire out. But I'll be sure to try it and report back here. Thanks!
Seeing as how I currently have a push button I'm already used to having the car start in any gear. Had a few close calls too!
Thanks for your help roger. Much appreciated.
