I have a 1969 convertible, small block L-46 with the optional speed warning buzzer. There's a **** below the steering wheel, to left of the tachometer ****, that allows you to move the speed of where the alarm is set. The **** turns, but doesn't move the alarm setting on the speedometer. Any help on how to fix this, or even where the disconnect wire is to the buzzer, or where the buzzer is-I'm at a loss as the alarm is set to 65 mph, which is a problem as on highway it starts alarming at highway speeds. Thanks.
Ron
the buzzzer itself is on the driver's side left pillar behind dashboard (see pic, looks like a relay). The connector is on the backside of the speedo (round brass connector left hand side on the pic). But you could also disconnect the power supply for the buzzer. Should go to the AUX port on the fuse panel (may be daisy chained with other options like alarm system).
Thank you all for your quick replies. On the ****, yes the one on the left is the alarm warning ****-that does not pull down, like the one to the right, which is the odometer ****, does. Given my dash is fully assembled, I can't seem to locate the relay-like alarm, as I assume it's way up in the top left corner (as you look at the dash). Also, similar issue with where it connects to the back of the speedometer. Unless I'm just not seeing these two locations, then my only three options are: (1) find where the power plug plugs in, either to the fuse box or elsewhere, or (2) disconnect the fuse that feeds this circuit, (3) somehow figure out how to fix the actual ****/wire that feeds the speedometer/alarm mechanic. #2 I'm trying to figure out, but if anyone has any advice on #1 and #3, or any other input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I answered without going out to look at my car Ron, sorry about that. You are correct the alarm **** doesn't pull down.
Willcox may be able to help you with repairs and Roger should be able to help identify the wiring.
Good luck
There are two ***** and let me dig around.. I think I have some great pictures of this.
The issue might be something as simple as being un-plugged or just the relay (buzzer).
The needle on this has a spring wire that completes the ground when it hits a post on the secondary needle. Thus making the buzzer go off... It is a real pita to repair these speedometers basically due to the lack of parts being available.
This is terrific, thank you very much. Let me tinker around using this diagram, and will be back in touch if I'm still having issues. Thanks again for your help.
