This is the third time i am posting this question. As I type this my car is sitting in a mechanics shop, waiting on the a/c to be fixed. The problem is my car (i thought) was supposed to be equiped with a V.I.R canister, but the hoses and tube do not line up coming out of the evaporator. my mechanic tells me that he will bend them to make them fit, but if they break or crack he is not responsible. i know that in 1977 chevy made to types of a/c systems a VIR and a c.c.o.t. system. my '77 AIM only shows the VIR stuff. can ony one tell me what i need to look for to tell me what i should have or can some one with a 78 or later please send me a email of the AIM pages for the a/c system. please help......
thank you guys so much.... i dont want my mechanic to screw my A/C up. i do most of my own work so I am a little untrusting expecially when he's not for sure how it works either.
The vir system was used prior to 1978. the vir basicaly replaces the drier. Also another major difference i have found out is the configuration of hoses on the evaporator. thank you for sending me those pages. they have help me figure out exactly what i have. thank you again.
