I just picked up a older vette around 1975 I think were in the process of finding the title now!
I didnt see the vin tag yet ( its to dirty from siting outside in a wooded area) we got the passenger open to get acess but the drivers side door wont unlage. try both handles and no go checked unlocking inside and out and they seem to be working.
is there any way to get door panel off the get to inside on door while door is closed???
Any help would be app.
thank in advance
could you try that again in english this time ? if i get the drift of your problem the latch probably will not unlock due to the locking lever inside the latch being bent. its a known and very common problem. you will have to apply some force and wiggle the locking lever until it eventually unlocks.
Hi rs30,
How long has the car been sitting in the woods?
Could it be so rusty that the door has sagged enough that the latch can't release from the striker?
That would be a 'worse case', but possible for a car that's been 'sitting in the woods'.
Regards,
Alan
dosnt look like rusted the gaps on the doors look good so far but i haven't put car on a lift to look under it yet!!!
I plan to look at frame and to see if a can start it first and then go from there
