How do you tell the inner tie rods from the outer tie rods or does it make a difference?

Tie rod ends with left hand threads attach to the steering arms at the wheels. Right hand threaded tie rod ends attach to the relay rod.

If you want to know more about the Corvette linkage system and how to orient the tie rod clamps this paper has a lot more information.

It is in Microsoft Word format.

Hi R76,
Here's a picture of the slight groove in the LEFT hand threaded end of the tube/sleeve that Jim's info describes. I guess it's there to identify that end easily.
Regards,
Alan
