Default gasket recommendations

about to change over to the 186 head with roller tip rockers - 2101 intake - cc xe262 cam swap on my stock 72 L48 auto
what is the best way to buy gaskets ?
should i just buy a complete kit or buy them separately?
have looked at Summit for example, but the felpro QKS2600 kit dont say what part #'s they come with
so should i go felpro 1003 head 0.041x4.166, felpro 1256 intake and a felpro 2702 timing set

which/what do you think i should buy?

anything else i have over looked when doing this change over?

hope to pull the motor this time next year to do a bottom end rebuild....

(yes, i'll be buying a few beers as well for my helper)

For the head gaskets, I would get the gaskets that best work with your combo rather than save a few $$$ with a gasket kit.

If your L48 still has the dish pistons, and the block deck and heads are flat, not warped (not sure what is the max tolerance), I would use a rubber coated steel shim gasket to get your compression ratio as high as you can.

I believe Felpro 1094 is a head gasket commonly used and is .015" thick. This should raise your CR to about 9.3:1 if you still have the dish pistons. Just a thought.

You are switching to a longer duration cam, you need all the compression you can get.

I'd say buy the head, intake, and header gaskets that you want, and make the rest of the gaskets yourself, using the old gaskets as a template. All you need to do is buy some gasket material and an Xacto knife. And be careful! Those Xacto knives are sharp!

Keep the shiny side up!

Buy the 'KS' kit, its Felpros engine rebuilding kit, its used by the Pro`s and has all the necessary gaskets.....we sold countless sets and has the same gaskets the high dollar premium set comes with.....
