Default engine break in???

I have the original L-48 in my '77 but have made a few upgrades as ou can see in my signature, cam, intake, carb, springs, etc. and Comp Cams says I have the run the car @2000 rpm for 1/2 an hour to break the cam, but what I want to know is if there is anything else I might need to do. Thanks.

You might want to prime, well in you case it probably is all ready primed, but follow the precedure to prime the oil pump like you where starting a new motor. This will get oil to the lifters and rocker arms to help lubricate the areas immediately on start up and help in the cam break in.

Greetings,

In addition to what he said, I normally change the oil after about 100 miles to get all the cam install lube out of there...I'm sure it doesn't hurt anything, but I like to play it safe.
