Default Lets All Wish '75 (Dean) Well

My friend Dean ('75 to all on the forum) is scheduled for a second surgery on his rotator cuff tomorrow morning. He's been a regular poster here while on work leave, but let's all pray he gets back to work soon.

I bought his yellow 75 and a bunch of other stuff. I was up there last winter. Had snow that day. He struck me as a strong guy. He and another guy I had with me, loaded a long block into my truck. He must have been in the gym for awhile.
I've had that surgery in the past, he'll do well with it I suspect.

I can appreciate the rotator cuff surgery...been there; done that. I wish him well. Also, I'll offer that the rehabilitation therapy required after that repair is a "bear" and can be very painful at times.

My advice is: "no pain--no gain". Getting that arm to move upward is the most difficult part of that therapy. Work hard and accept that the pain felt is the 'doorway' to a successful result. My repaired shoulder is just as good as the other one, now.

Good luck to him. I have two more months to go on my shoulder rehab and then I should be able to go back to work.

Hi guys, thanks for the prayers and good wishes. I'm just Dean and have a yellow vette, not yellowvettedean. I went in this morning for a manual manipulation on my right shoulder due to too much scar tissue build up from the rotator cuff surgery back in the beginning if May. The Dr had to go in with the arthroscope and trim up a bunch of the scar tissue in order to get the full range of motion, also took x rays to make sure my arm and elbow weren't broken during the manipulation (basically twist and bend/pull arm into every possible position while under general anesthesia). The nerve block is still working at this point, but soon the pain meds will take effect and I'll get started using the cpm machine. I sit and let the machine move my arm to keep the range the doc got today, then back to therapy first thing tomorrow morning. Again, thanks for the well wishes.

I can see I'm not alone. I had mine done in June, 16 weeks of rehab.
If you haven't checked out the ice pump machine on Amazon, do so.

Walking kept me sane, keep your sling tight.

Rehab is lonely and painful!
