Pull the covers off, get the car into a fairly dark area, and mix up a couple of drops of dish soap and water in a spray bottle. Start at the plugs and wet the wires down back to the cap. Watch for little blue sparks. I'll bet you have a bad wire or a problem with the cap. It may even be that the cover over the distributor or coil is so close it's arcing to the cover.

Did you remember to put silicone in the boots? And what wires are you using? personally, I suggest getting something no less that 8.5mm, get the best. To me its worth spending nearly $100 for good, thick, heat resistant wires for the spark.

They may be "new", but you likely bought 'junk' wiring. If you purchased based on CO$T, odds are you bought Chinese junk. That MSD box puts out a 'hot' spark; buy appropriate wires (those that are recommended by MSD).

7T1, I may have worded the post wrong, maybe not. I have all MSD myself. What I meant was you will have to pay for the quality. And know what I mean. Example....Somebody goes to Auto Zone and gets the cheaper $5 part instead of the $15 part. Another example..... Most everyone knows Dewitt has the best radiator but the price is heartbreaking so they opt for the $140 one on ebay.

Get real. China mass produces anyway, more local resources, have lower overhead and cheaper labor so there is no way Chinese products will ever out price American Made stuff. Hell, we use these forums to research what the best parts are for out cars regardless of price.

I agree with Mariana. Get the best part available and do the job once.
