Default ZZ4 Owners Please Read This !!!

Bserry was asking in another post about an emblem for our engines. I know that Sallee-Chevrolet has done stickers for engine combo's in the past and if we can generate enough interest they will make one for the ZZ4. They were talking about making one about a year ago for the ZZ4 but I haven't heard anything else about it. I have a post on their discussion board now asking if they ever did make the sticker and if not that the members here might be interested and maybe we could get one designed. Here is what I posted on their discussion board.

I remember about a year ago Sallee-Chevrolet would design and print some ZZ4 stickers to sell if there was enough interest. Has there been any interest and if so are the stickers available? I know a few people on Corvette Forum that would be interested in a ZZ4 sticker. If you do decided to do it (if you haven't already) then may I suggest you make it like the LT-1, 454, or L82 type emblem GM used to put on Corvettes.
Thanks
John

Here is a link to Sallee-Chevrolets discussion board: http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/Discus/board.html

Please go there a reply to my post so we can generate interest and get them to do this. I have wanted to put something like this on my car ever since I put my ZZ4 in it a year ago. I know all the good forum members can so this if we all get together and push for it. What do you think? Please, if you have another design in mind, let them know your design also.
John

I forgot, if you have never been to Salle-Chevrolet's discussion board, go to the "Post your questions and answere here" link. My post is almost at the bottom so scroll down and the name of the post is.........Hey Sallee-Chevrolet ZZ4 Stickers.
John

I just got a responce from Sallee-Chevrolet. Here it is:
Here's the story....

When this came up it wasn't too long after we started offering the 502 air cleaner decal on our site. To date we still haven't sold enough of those to pay for the cost of having them made.

Some of you suggested that we also make decals for the ZZ4 and the ZZ430.

The ZZ4 Tom was interested in because there are thousands of them running around. The ZZ430 on the other hand probably haven't gotten much over 1,000 total made including GM's original and all other companies reproductions like ours.

When we have decals made up, there is a minimum of 5,000 that we have to make at a time. If we sell these at a reasonable price, like we do with the 502 decal, we don't break even on the cost of having them made until we have sold close to 4,000 of them.

Tom said at that time if there was enough interest in a ZZ4 decal that he would have these made, enough obviously meaning an initial showing of at least 1,000 interested people. It looked promising at first and Tom even told me to tell some people that he would do it, then about that fast the responses stopped and until now except for one person, there hasn't been anyone else write in to me saying they wanted one. Tom, seeing this canceled the plans to do this. We just can't do this if there are only going to be around 50 people wanting one. The other problem is the design. We can't use any logos or images that belong to another company, like GM for these or we have to pay them royalties and get their permission. That would put them completely out of the question. So the design has to be of our own making. There in lies the next problem, what if the design we come up with very few people like.

A couple of people suggested that we go around contacting clubs to see how many people from them would buy one. But if you have to go to this much troubles, that's proof that there just isn't that much interest and most people won't respond to such inquiries even if they might be interested. There are too many spam messages floating around already without us adding to it too.

The bottom line is that unless we can get at least 1,000 people to say they would buy one if we came up with a design they liked, it's never going to happen.

If we could at least get that type of response, then we could go back to working on a design and maybe post a few examples to be voted on. The design with the most votes would be the one we would make.

I am going to post a link to this post on the C2 forum because I know ther is a few members there with ZZ4's. If any of you guys know of people other thatn Corvette owners that have ZZ4's, please let them know of this so we can get at least the 1000 people that Sallee-Chevorlet seems to require to get a project like this off the ground.

I know a guy that can help. He is the guy that did my LS-1 lettering for my hood. If you come up with a design, let me know and I can get some more details.

I'm going to have one made for mine .........except it's going to be ZZ-5.
I think the Fastburn 385 should have the new ZZ-5 designation.

I think I can have some made to say both or even some LS1,LT1,or what ever.

He's buying some machine that will make them. I'll get back and let y'all know when he can and how much they'll be. I want Red ! JIM

Maybe if we get enough ZZ4 owners to agree on a design then this guy can give us a little discount if we order a lot. I like your LS-1 design myself.

You look like you have some artistic abilities, can you design one based on the font you used for your LS-1? There should be no dash in ZZ4 though. I remember when you posted your first LS-1 design and I was the one who suggested you "fatten up" the S, remember?
Thanks
John

Here is what I came up with. I just added the color to make it stand out a little better. Let me know what colors you think would look good.

I think somebody already makes them. I believe I saw some ZZ4 emblems at Pacific Corvette in Puyallup WA at (253) 841-3533.
