Default Windshield Wipers

Anyone run into this problem? All modern wipers seem to be too tall for the C3 and can't clear the hood when turned on. Where are C3 owners getting their windshield wipers?

Thanks

The first time I just bought refills from Wal-Mart, Anco or pylon I think. The last time they didn't have the refills so I bought wiper blades that I could remove the "refills" form so I could use my wiper blade holders (I don't know what you call them, it is what the wiper arm connects to and it holds the rubber blade). I did this because like you said they were all too tall to clear the wiper door. If you need the blade and holder and still can’t find one then there is always the Vette vendors on the web.

If you have the orig. wiper blades they should be stainless steel
Trico style with the little detent button to disassemble mid blade.
Any 16" refill will work.
Check Rockauto.com as they have the replica Trico blade wiper combo
for classic cars. In Fact i think Trico calls it its classic series.
Rockauto is the only place I recall seeing them.
Some of the fine parts dealers on this forum may also stock em.
You are absolutely right all modern blades are too high to fit under the
wiper door on our vette's '68 through '72.
Hope this was of use to you?

Short rant here, We used to buy wiper blade inserts for 2 bux each, and did it for decades, now they two for 5-6 bux or so, but NO, the smart asses in the wiper industry decide to market the whole assy for 25+ bux per blade, and the damn dummies are stupid enough to buy them.....gotta look really good at the local parts house, and it's ok to buy a longer insert than you may need, just cut the end off and if necessary hold with a little dap of RTV.....
