I read, afew months back, that Lars makes "spring and weight" kits f/ SBC distributors. I have an '81 'Vette w/ the original 350 engine and have removed all the smog devices, installed an Edelbrock 600 carb, an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake, and long tube Hedman headers. I now need the distributor to work correctly w/ what I have.
LARS, Could you please drop me a message and let me know about the kits or whatever you think I need to do w/ my distributor. It's the stock '81 HEI.
Thank you in advance. I have heard many times on this site that you are the guy to see when it comes to distributors and carbs. Sincerely, Jimmy.
I wrote a note to Lars, but not sure if he received it, as his inbox was full.

Lars is great about returning and answering emails:

The kits have been discontinued for about 5 years. Your stock '81 distributor is a computer controlled distributor, and will need to be replaced with a non ECU distributor. Time it and set it up per my timing paper, available via e-mail request.
Jim, your email relies on info from the computer to run correctly and without the carb I believe it won't have it. So, you'll need to switch to a non-computer controlled distributor as well.
