Default Speaker Grills in 68 need help

Need to replace driver’s side speaker in my 1968. Can someone explain how to remove the speaker grill. I did not see any screws in the grill.

Thanks in advance,

Dont know if 68 is different from 69 but the speaker is in the kick panel which is held on with 2 screws plus the door sill plate has to be removed.

You need to remove the lower door sill plate, then remove the two screws on the outer edge of the dash pad. There is also one screw (top/front) on the kickpanel that needs to be removed. Then you can just wiggle the kickpanel out to work on it.

Thanks Guy,
Just removed the speaker. Thanks a lot. I just bought a pair from Paragon for my 68 and they send me 4 ohm speakers, when I called them they told me they will work. The speakers in my car are 10 ohms. Do you know he they will work?
Thanks

Do you have the stock factory AM/FM radio? If so, you might want to read THIS.

A 4 ohm speaker will draw more current than a 10 ohm speaker...about 2-1/2 times as much current. The result will be that the radio will seem to have more volume; but it will also become distorted when turned up, because it will be overdriving the amp. And, if you run it long at or anywhere near full volume, the amp will "fry" from the constant 'overcurrent' condition.

Paragon wants to sell speakers. But, if your radio fries, they won't cover your loss. You should install 8 ohm speakers, as a minimum, to be sure you don't damage the radio head and convector unit. You can run the radio with 4 ohm speakers, as long as you don't turn the volume up more than about halfway.

P.S. The radio will work fine....until it doesn't work at all. There will be no "warning" of impending doom.
