To do a real conversion to make the bumpers functional and make the back of the car have the exact same shape as a 73 it would be very expensive. If you go with the conversion bumper cover the cover cost $500 and the bumpers will cost atleast another $400. You will need the tailights, exhaust bezels and tips (if you are doing rear exhaust exit). The bumpers are not functional and just bolt to the fiberglass. I just considered it and decided against it.
To make the decision find out how much a 73 will cost vs the parts and labor for the conversion. You could buy a 73 but you may have to sell your car and im sure the 73 will cost more than you will get from selling your car and a host of other potential mechanical, body, and electrical issues. I can tell you the parts for the conversion will cost less than your selling your car and buying a 73. If you can do the lwork yourself you will save some money. The conversion will be expensive but may be cheaper than buying a 73.

any pictures i had were "lost" when i got divorced years ago. however the only issue was making the deck behind the big window line up to the duck tail. that wouldn't matter on a 77. it probably would horrify some people how it was done but it worked. measure off the side marker lights for position. that custom image thing looks funky , the duck tail is too high.
You could do it. But, you must realize that you could never sell it for anything close to the value of your '77. If you want to do it and just keep it forever....go for it. I think you would be money ahead to sell the '77 and buy a '73 (which would have resale value).
those chrome bumpers supplied almost zero protection, that was the reason the government mandated those stupid rubber bumpers. once again showing you can't make an engineer out of a legislator. i can't wait to see what they screw up next
