I took both head light assemblies out of my 71 coupe in 1993 for body repainting. While they were out i disassembled them intending to rebuild them as needed. Now that its 2013 its time to re-install them. (I sold the car to my body shop buddy and he is reassembling it, I can't believe this car has sat disassembled (indoors) for 30 years now). I/we need to send the headlight parts to someone for rebuild. Any suggestions on someone that can handle the procedure?
If your 'body shop buddy' bought the car...and knew its condition when he did so...they are HIS. Give them to him and let him rebuild those, too.
If you feel some remorse for them being apart, also give him a copy of the Assembly Instruction Manual for that model year...at your expense. He will need it.
Hi bs,
Except for cleaning and reassembly I believe the only parts of the headlight mechanisms that can be "rebuilt" are the actuators....if that's what you're asking.
There's a fellow in Texas that does a very nice job at a reasonable price.
