Guess we'll have to banish the '59 to the trash heap for lack of round taillights.

to me - it's not the lack of round lights....
It just looks so angular and squared off. Corvettes from the 50's on up always looked rounder, smoother, etc....

It looks like a Ferravipette.

It's got what ever Chevy could find in the general parts bins. How about a Corvette specific turn signal stalk etc..?

Technically, you have round lights under red lenses.

Did you want to say "Camaroferravipette", no maybe "Ferravipettimaro"

I think the car looks very high priced race car with a Camaro rear.

It's a shame GM now has a design staff who know nothing about the Corvette, it's traditions, or it's styling cues.

when i think "CORVETTE" c-2s and 3s are the first thing i think of.they scream corvette, there is no mistaking what you are looking at, they just drip corvette cool.

everything from the c-4s to now are nice fast cars, but the distinction is long, long gone.now they are just a garden variety euro inspired supercar.

i think its the same way with all the new cars now. I for one can't tell what 3/4 of them are without looking at the logo,gm ford chrysler, japanese european all the same basic look.........and some i don't even recognize.(or do i care). just your average aero egg going down the road

the c-7 is a nice looking car but they have lost all sense of being true to the cars history, heritage and styling.

I like the front 3/4's of the C7 but now I now where the old Pontiac Aztec rear end designers were assigned. The interior video game gauges do me in worse than the back end. I really want to luv this vette but fix the interior and that back end, I'm sure that it will be a stunning performer.

the rear end really does not flow with the design, it just looks like an after thought...I agree with most of you in thinking the rear looks like a Camaro...

i am understanding what you guy's who don't like it are saying but we can't live in the past forever.the c3's look somewhat dated, the c2's even worse and the c1's well.i love the old cars and the old designs but it is time to move on.

i don't think its living in the past...........just design something that is without question a "corvette" . ford nailed it with the latest generation of mustang.....modern, but it is without a doubt a mustang.same with the challenger a few years back.
i was just hoping for something to at least have a few styling cues to remind you that it is a corvette.

Hmm, what I'm hearing is resistance to change maybe? Don't worry, when you see and drive one you will be seduced. I may have to trade the 370Z roadster for a C7. My C3 needs a little playmate.

If the C7's backside sat lower, I would agree. Backend (look at it from the left front corner... a picture) reminds me first of the backend of my 2001 C5.

the whole pkg looks more like a Ferrari than a Corvette. I'll keep my pre-computer C3.

It looks like the car has a sharp edged crease in it everywhere they could think up to do it overkill on that. The venting all over it way to many of them for good taste. Not just the shape of the back tail lights the way there inset into some form of angular shaped hole looks really bad. The dash looks like you should be playing a video game on it. The seats are very well done. Don't care for the completely square rear glass area.

Everyone on this Forum loves the look of the C3...well, almost everyone, anyway. So, it's not surprising that most of us would not like the rear of the C7. It's so....."canned" looking--just like a lot of other new/recent GM designs.

A Corvette should be different than the 'run of the mill' GM products--not the SAME.

We all have differing opinions, and that's a GOOD thing. We shall see what the buying public and the sports car world think of it in the near future.

Kinda looks like it was designed by a committee. I won't be trading in my C-3 anytime soon.
But then...I didn't like the new C-3 when it came out in '68 either.

Keep the red side up
And the top down
