You can also go to the local wrecking yard on a "fuse cruise" and gather materials for the parts bin. Lots of foreign cars use heavy duty relays that can be used for this purpose. The wrecking yards will give you that stuff for pennies or nothing depending upon mood.
I get lots of stuff like that along with speciality fasteners that you can't normally get at the local auto parts store.
What are ya'll talking about with this headlight thing, mine are covered up by doors that don't come up!!!! You mean these cars can have working headlights

These are what I use, got them from the Caterpillar dealer, I'm sure there are other sources.
if you got to the junk yard, the late 90s S10 and Blazers have several of those relays on the passenger side firewall. They used sealed Metri-Pack 280 terminals so you can build your own perfect length wiring harness. Each of them has 2 or 3 of them, so they are really plentiful.
Even Pepboys carries relays for different applications but I still don't understand why you just don't replace the headlight switch. The wires on a 80 vette has no problem running newer headlights. I have the H4 130 watt head lights in my 82 with no problems at all. If you're going to HID than I can see this much effort.

The relay is 115-1615 and the terminals are 9x1055 for 12 ga wire and 9x1056 for 16 ga. I'll have to get the part # for the weather proof socket from work on Monday. You use your own wire and crimp the terminals on.
Not trying to hijack, but does anyone know if relays & harness mods, OEM harnesses from Lectric Limited, Daniel Stern and others will effect the fiber optics on 68-71's? I want to upgrade harness and relays, but still want the fiber optics to work on front and rear. Also wanting to upgrade to the 5.75 conversion light assys and wondering how that effects the fiber optics. Anyone know? Thanks!
