Default What goes here?

On my 76, the trim piece below the back window was missing. I picked up a replacement and now I am trying to mount it.

The PO was kind enough to leave one of the three "L" brackets in place so I have an idea how to make the other two. With those three brackets, the trim piece looks like it will mount under the window fine. However, when I turn the trim piece over, there are six threaded holes where something goes.

What goes here? Is there another piece of trim I am missing or is there some sort of stiffening bar that is supposed to go on back of the trim?

I wonder if some sort of pad mounted there to keep you from crushing the trim down when you screw it in place ? ? ? ?

I pulled that trim piece out of my 76 last week, for what it's worth, there's nothing attached to those holes on mine.

Those are "stand-off" pads molded into the backside of that part. Those keep the part from flexing inward when you push on it, after it's mounted.

UPC E01-E12 Sheets 15 and 15.5 in the AIM. Brackets were used on early cars and not used on later production cars.
