What color were the front grilles painted?
Were the egg crate surfaces masked off which left the chrome showing?
Thanks,
Jim

A medium/dark charcoal gray is what I have seen the grilles painted...with the top edges showing chrome. They match the color applied to the bumper guards.

Yes...the "egg crates" show chrome on the thin top edge around all the openings and the "U" shaped outer perimeter feature line.

Good luck...I have done numerous and they are always "FUN"!!!!

This is about the 17th thread about this in the last week or so. I just did mine with Dupli-color cast coat...not spot on but close enough for me. The bottom row of eggcrates is blacked out, BTW.

Hi,
I agree that charcoal gray (not black) is a good choice if originality matters.
I believe the bottom row of the egg crate openings didn't have any exposed chrome showing.
I also believe the groove, (racetrack), that runs around 3 sides of the parking light lens had semi-flat black paint in it.
Since a 'mask' was used while the charcoal gray was sprayed the original demarcation of chrome/paint wasn't always very distinct and even.
Regards,
Alan
