Default troubleshooting wiper switch/vacuum stuff

wiper door doesn't go up with the switch, (but does with the override)
Question: does the switch and the wiper door vacuum control solenoid need to be grounded to the body, the vacuum solenoid is not attached to the tach, and I have the switch unattached from the dash.

I have looked at some of willcoxes vidios, ( he is my new hero, I will buy everything from him, including the kitchen sink)

I haven't got the wipers to come on yet either, I'm still investigating, thanks

Hi gg,
Yes the wiper switch is grounded through it's attachment to the center gauge bezel.
If the top of the gauge bezel is broken off from the bottom, (as is sometimes/often the case), the top part will need an individual ground for the wiper switch to work.
Regards,
Alan

thanks Alen, I will run a temperary ground wire to the switch, also my tach was replaced years ago and the solenoid was never reattached, I will try to reattach that also so its grounded as well.
