Default ? for Engine guys

I have a new set of WP S/R Torquers, BTW available over the net for $659 delivered. I was told these are a straight bolt on-no mods needed. The only thing I see is they weren't cleaned very well after 3 angle valve job, there was grit on some of the valve faces. I will take apart ,clean and paint.
So here are my questions:

1-Any problem removing, then replacing the seals?
2-What paint works best, I used spray bombs before with good luck. I want it to stay nice a glossy. VHT,POR15,auto store?
3- Are any type of head mods required or for a 6k 9:1 motor not necessary?
4-These have scew in studs. I was thinking of adding guide plates-heard different stories yes/no? Also there are flat and steped guide plates which ones do you use? Will be using CC roller tip rockers also, probably with new hardened pushrods.
5- push rods- was going to use standard length- stock bottom end on motor-no milling ever done.
I think that's it unless someone has more input?
As always, thanks.
Gary

I bought a pair of Sportman II's and they looked like they had metal grit also .

I don't understand why you want to change out new seals.

When ever I paint heads I just throw on an old valve cover that I don't mind getting paint on. As for paint I tried different colors. At car shows I've seen some real trick stuff like your powder coats. Your heads are not subjected to really high heat. So you have lots of options.

I'd semi polish out the chambers and exhaust ports. The intake I would gasket match. It's really easy to do with a die grinder and some metal bit's don't port anything just clean up the casting on the intake.

I have used both types of guide plate and right now I'm using the raised style with .100 overlength pushrods 1.6 CC roller tips on fully ported 186 casting heads. Stock length hardened would be fine up to @ 500 lift even with 1.6

Depends on the type of seals. If they are the stock o-ring style, I'd play it safe and replace them when the heads are re-assembled. You might nick one when taking them off.

Thanks for the reply. I don't want to replace the seals but I do want reuse them after I clean them. There was enough grit on there to cover the valves so there must be some inside too. I don't know what type of seals the shop installed. They buy the WP bare castings and assemble them in their shop. I'm looking at a CC270 H or 262XE cam at this point.
