'71 wiper door
My wiper door opens 30-60 seconds after turning the engine off. When i push it closed and start the engine the next time it stays down just fine. Using the over-ride switch it will function correctly. This "weird" opening doesn't happen all the time. 60 to 80% of the time. Ideas?????????

I have found that the open cell foam square filter at the end of your wiper door vacuum solenoid...(located under your tach) is missing. This causes for a much faster bleed off of vacuum and allows the actuator relay to move the door to the open position. I make mine out of foam and lightly glue them WITHOUT getting glue in the end of the black nipple fitting. Everything I do this...it fixes the problem. Be patient when trying to create a hole on the foam so it fits good. Being in a hurry will only tear the foam and might not give a positive result.
