I fail to understand the mindset often expressed on this forum that everything on or about the C3 was poorly designed by GM.
'Cause it's absolutely true. My stupid alternator actually had the unmitigated GALL to wear out the brushes at about 120,000 miles. What's worse, the original carburetor only has about 130,000 miles on it and the primary shaft has some fore/aft play. I may need to get it Larsified one of the these years.
Hi,
We're talking about a car designed more than 45 years ago, and designed to be built in such a way that an ordinary 'working Joe' could afford to make the monthly payments necessary to have a BRAND NEW CORVETTE!
I really don't think anyone who, designed, built, sold, or owned these cars new, thought they would still be fascinating people 45 years later.
Regards,
Alan
Back to the Switch... if both switches are unplugged, the dash light is supposed to go out?
I have 2 dangling sockets with most of a switch plugged into one of them. I'll replace the switches if that will make the light go out, but it sounds like maybe that's not the problem.
