I'm going to be doing this mod to my 80 soon. Did you hook up to the HEI tack output for the tack signal?
The last FAST product I used recommended a 20* square wave tach signal (RPM module for their wideband controller).
They said the HEI tach lead would not be sufficient, so I ended up converting my HEI to an MSD Digital Heat setup. This gave me the 20* output and worked great. It also preserves the original factory output. The MSD ignition boxes also provide this feature, but I preferred the less invasive and less visually obvious route.
I ran my tach off the module that comes from the kit, took the black cap off and wrapped the wire around the neg. side.
On a side note if anyone who has installed this can help I am having a issue with it. When I drive it the computer keeps the vehicle going, I look at the monitor and even with my foot out of the gas the system shows 2-6% throttle. Is the a computer issue or my throttle cable, I have check the throttle body and it appears to be shut. Also at a stop if I get back on the gas not just right it dies. Any help from your experience would be great thanks guys

Also its really hard to restart, I have to give it a little gas to get it to run.
Just from what I've read on the ff forum but 1 guy had a similar issue as you. His accel fuel was at 0, he pressed the down button and it started running better he settled at -3 as he had noticed that he was rich at idle. I will pm you the thread. Hope this helps.

May try resetting the TPS
On the acceleration issue, try backing off the accel fuel setting
Have you checked out the FAST forum? Lots of info over there although not as active as this forum
make sure you're reading your screen right, rumor is some people have mistaken the TPS with for the page number (they're right next to each other, so it's really easy to do)

thanks for the link, it sounds the same as my problem, I busted a belt on my water pump so once I replace that I will try - numbers on the accel fuel and see what it does, thanks again

yeah I did that once or maybe twice.... but it was still running open when I took my foot out of it and I re-calb. it a few times, not sure I am setting the idle screw right, it says to get it in the target but when the car is running 750-800 where I want it and set it in the setup it wants me to adjust it more since the lines are not on target...does not make sense to me.

I ran into this too - (yeah, the screen thing too) - here's the deal with targets, if it's too far away the motor will constantly be trying to get to the unrealistic level. Example, my car was running at ~12.5 AF ratio but the target was set first at 14.0. When I finally changed the AF ratio to what the computer was telling me via the O2 sensor it needed, the car started running quite well. That said, the O2 doesn't react that quickly, so the tuning has to continue until what the O2 is reading is very close to the target you've set on the computer.... mine ended up (IIRC) at 12.3 idle, 13.0 cruise, 12.5 WOT with a +1 fuel ad. My idle is set at 950, and now it'll finally idle there. Before, I couldn't keep it idling at 1400 rpm.
I don't think it's as sensitive (or requires as much fuel) if you have a less radical cam; however, the cam in my car is a bottom-of-the-page cam, so some accommodations have to be made.
