Oil Change

Gentleman: I installed a rebuilt Vortex engine in my 1977. I installed new regular oil in it for the break-in. Then I changed the oil filter at around 200 miles. At 500 miles i installed new oil & filter again. It now has 1260 miles on it. I want to install Full Synthetic oil & filter in it this time for the next 3 thousand miles I have been told this is too soon, by some & perfect timing by others. What is the rule of thumb on this change. Or is there any. Thanks for all your responses, I Appreciate. Gene

This would be up to you at this point. You can run the oil in it or change it to Synthetic. There are lot's of opinions on this but you won't hurt anything leaving it or changing it over.
