Default t-top panel

Hi everyone..

I was just wondering, has anyone ever replaced the interior panel that runs along the center bar of the t-roof on a late c3? Im talking about the one that houses the dome light. Mine on my 81' is pretty darn warped from the relentless summer sun and heat over the years and I see that they are available new but pretty pricey. I was just wondering if anyone has ever replaced theirs and is satisfied with the results. And also is it a difficult or easy task to accomplish. Also are the ones available new good quality or piece of crap?

Did you get an answer on this? I need to remove the same panel on my 70 coupe but other than two screws cannot see what is holding it on and cant see it in the copy of the AIM I've got.

Hi Joe,
Sorry I can't help on your 80;
But Haggis,
On your 70 I believe the original center trim piece is held in place by 2 imbedded studs in the center, and 1 screw each side in the front (hidden by the interior windshield header trim), and 2 screws each side in the rear (that also fasten the inner ends of the interior halo trim panels).
Look at UPC 1 asm, Sheet F17, Center and Rear roof Interior Trim.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan, I will have a look at that sheet, I'm not sure if the AIM I have is complete, it came with the car so it may not be there.
