Rough Starting 80'. Choke issue?
However, last night like a dope I left the light button turned on and came out to a dead car this morning. I jumped it this afternoon, let it run for a half hour and took it to O'Reily's to test the battery. Battery is only 3 years old but they said they couldn't test it due to corrosion build-up. When I went to start the car after shutting it off it started pretty rough.
Could the battery be the main source of the issues I'm having or should I really just adjust the choke?
Thanks guys!
Clean the battery terminals and grease them with No-Ox.
Then get into the choke, the current draw from the choke heater pulls in a relay that kills the light, if the light is on that means no current on the choke heater. Could be the fuse or a wire going to the choke. Check the fuse first, check for power on both ends of the fuse with the key on, then check at the choke connector on the carb. Go from there
