Sidepipe Restoration Tips?

Sidepipe Restoration Tips?
I purchased a set of early C3 big block sidepipes that are NOS---still have the GM sticker on them. They have sat on a floor and have surface rust.
Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to restore them? I have heard clean them up and paint with aluminum paint??

Hi Jon,
I used high-temp Cast Blast on the pipes and mufflers of the 69 side exhaust I had on my 71.
It really holds up well.
You can easily tell they're not natural bare steel, but there's not much choice.
I found the pipes rusted MUCH more than the mufflers.
