Default New trailing arms

Looking at purchasing new trailing arms. I thought, might as well go offset since buying new.

I cannot get my t/a's sent off for rec as i do not live in the USA.

Most go for around 800 to 999 for each side.
Here are a few

http://www.duntovmotors.com/spindle-parkbrake.php

http://www.muskegonbrake.com/corvett...assembly-rotor

and so so. I know not all places offer offset.

Is there really much difference between vendors with these t/a's.

Also i dont want to rivited ones either. And from reading alot of the pages, rubber bushings would be best. Right?

Can some here recommend, where they have bought their t/a's from.

mine is a 76 model.

vb and p also offers them. You're two links above are great companies as well. Most all of the vendors offer them as well. Ecklers, Corvette America, etc.

Do NOT buy from Duntov. That's all i'll say. Vansteel is the real deal. Offset TA are $489.99 a PAIR. Great reputation.

The ONLY thing the offset arms do is allow for way oversized wheels and tires. Other than that, waste of money.

question, are the new arms equal to the quality of the old GM product , are there any significant diffs? NCRS acceptable resto parts?

thanks

I was in a similar situation as you about 2 months ago. Was going with new arms from VanSteel and couldnt decide on stock or offset. I went with offset because:

-The potential of running bigger wheels if I so desire
-They are made better and stronger (probably a non factor since I dont plan on beating on them)
-After I got the quotes for both, offsets were only $50 more per each. I decided to spend the extra $100 just in case the 1st 2 points above do take place.

You don't need offset trailing arms unless you are running a wider 15" or 16" wheel. If you have 17" or 18" wheels you can run regular stock trailing arms and be just fine. With flares I will be running 18x12 wheels with a 5" back space on straight trailing arms.

Oh, and stay away from Duntov.

I replaced my TA with Van Steels - I love them, I also have a Johnny joint in the front - which gives you all the flexibility of rubber, without the attendant failure in 10 years. It also is far more precise.

If their trailing arms are anything like their rebuilt differentials, believe me, you don't want one. I'm talking about Duntov.

Need to replace the trailing arms in my 76 also.Going with the coil overs from Van Steel. Not much price difference since I need new shocks.& springs anyways.More adjustability, better ride and handling than the mono spring.http://www.vansteel.com/index.cfm?fu...&SubGroup=1957
