I think the issue may be my clamp is to big , the opening of my clamp does not fit the ring on the dizzy , the clamp has to large of an opening. It is a black notched clamp.
Having never seen the correct way , I am guessing that the large ring (blackish grey on image) on the dizzzy sits on the gasket and seals, the small ring above it (shiny metal) is what the clamp fits around and the rounded clamp holds that ring...
If this is correct , then my clamp is to big for that ring!
Can someone verify ?? Or direct me in the right direction?
If someone can verify with photo or description on where the clamp "sits" on the dizzy , that would put me on my way!
So the theory of how this system works is : the clamp plate with the feet facing down put pressure on the dizzy , forcing it against the gasket and block , therefore keeping it from spinning? Is that correct?
It looks like the clamp is on upsidedown. Time to turn it around, any tricks to getting in there? Things that need to be moved? Or just twist and contort my hand around until I have access after I loosen the bolt?
Just remove the bolt, flip the clamp and put the bolt back in. If you have all of the ignition shielding intact it might be a little tricky, but usually you can worm a couple of fingers in there.
