I think it's the same. Look in front of the door and you should see a hole or a rubber plug in a hole. If you use a long screw driver you can reach in and push the lever on the hood and assuming the cable is good to the other side the hood will release.
If the cable is not good you can move to the latch below and release it then go to the other side and do the same thing. The passenger side is a bit harder.

No, the hood latches on a 75 and a 78, are completely different.

The 68-76 Corvette, uses a pin on the hood, and a female latch on the cowl. The 77-82 hoods, have a loop type of striker on the hood, that mates with a catch on the cowl.

It's a real common problem, with 68-82 Corvettes. Here's a link to a post about how to get it open. If you do a Forum search, you'll find plenty more.

Default ok somethings not right --with my latch

ok now all the stuff -films etc are showing how to open a 77-82 ---the car im trying to get into is a 75 and believe me it must b different as i have looked at every diagram including one off keens site -some sites that go to gm sites etc etc.....i have a 78 car sitting beside this 75 and believe me its not the same ......so with that said the 78 has a body mount latch like a double st louis arch and a horse shoe pin hanging from the hood ....now according to all the pics im coming up with the 75 has a flat hinge mounted to the hood ......come on guys is there not one of u that has a picture or that has broke into a 75 ....maybe i have a very rare hinge i dont know .but i do know i can do the screwdriver trick by now with my eyes closed on my 78 ....(actually better with eyes closed just go by feel )but this suckers gotta have a different latch than a 78 .....any more suggestions as the sawzall is laying next to the car and i really dont want to do it but day 5 this is getting old thank u .....

Let me walk out and take a few pics,,,

ok... This is my 75, no coments on the condition. Its a work in progress.
Pic of latch system, you can see the cable going off to the right I was talking about

close up of latch on left side of hood, you will push on this lever with a long screwdriver through a hole in the cowl behind the post (below)

pic of left side post, you can just barely see it but the plug/hole is right behind it, accessible when door is open. Note the lever just to the outside of the post. If the lever on the hood wont work you will push on this lever. there is one on the other side as well.
And yes those two wire on the left are my alarm wires sadly. <sigh>
.

pics of right side of car. the lever will pop this side only if the cable on the hood is good. if not use same tech on this side on the post rather than the hood but its a a little more tricky.
