What order?
What order, and my best guess, should steering, bushings, alignment, shocks, u-joints and tires be tackled. Not sure all will be necessary but want a safe solid reliable car. Squeaks and clunks concerning me, especially the transmission clunks into reverse then into drive which lessens considerably after 20-30 minutes on the road. So far next to my wife, this is one of the best choices I've made. Just wish I'd made it 30 years ago.

If any of those are significantly worn, they all need to be repaired before using the vehicle, IMO. If any of those items are still servicible as-is, you can sit those on a "rear burner". But, shocks, bushings, steering and tires can all affect alignment; and you don't really want to re-do an alignment every time you fix ONE item.
