Default Which tube beader.

Gram tool is only $140 but just does beading. Found the Mastercool "Universal Set 71475" for only $291 but it does the GM fuel line adapter witch is similar to a bead but it is different. I really want to bead my SS fuel lines for connection to the flex hoses.

Anyone use these tools?

I really like that mastercool and will eventually own one. I'm thinking the beader is all i want to get into right now. The bead is important for reliability and safety - allows clamp behind the bead to secure hose.

Anyboby use these tools?

I have the Mastercool set-up. It works well when you are dealing with any tube larger than 3/16". Trying to flare or bubble stainless steel 3/16" tubing is really tough...and it wears out the die and can damage the outer circumference of the tube where it is locked into the die. If you are trying to put the bubble at the end of the tube...I use the inverted flare die and control on how much I compress it. As you know...all you are looking for is a slight bubble so the hose clamp does not pull off. I have used the GM fuel line die and it works well also..but I have gotten so good at using the inverted flare die...It looks VERY CLOSE to what you would normally see....a nice smooth edged bubble...and not a bubble with a sharp rolled edge.

Thx DUB, i was worried my 3/8" SS line would be a problem for the mastercool equipment. The Gram tool advertizes it can handle SS. I have done the bubble trick before on carbon steel lines using a regular flaring tool and it will work. I recall i just started the double flair but just enough to bubble the end. But i think the bead has less restriction and that may be important in a fuel line relying on gravity to the pump.
