1979 wiper switch change out
I can walk you through this as long as you have the basic tools to do the job.
I sent you a PM.

It's really not hard to do...
To remove the wiper switch you must remove the speedo tach housing.
To do this follow the instructions at this link: http://willcoxcorvette.com/repairand...lp.php?hID=146
If you have cruise control the only change to the instructions I can say is remove the speedo cable from the back of the transducer. This will allow you to pull the cluster housing outward and then reach the clip that holds the cable in place. It makes this job a bit easier.
Now once you have the cluster out.. you'll need to remove the single bolt that holds it in place. You can see from the picture below where it is located. When installing it back in the car be extra careful not to strip out the hole. When you remove this bolt the switch will come out of the dash pad in a tilting fashion... Pull the bottom toward the firewall and then downward a bit. The switch has ears that hold it in place on the top side.
