Hi z,
While some stress cracking is fairly common it's tough to describe a repair without seeing them.
I'm thinking you've removed the paint, so maybe a couple of pictures?
Regards,
Alan

The cracks usually result from the age of the old, original lacquer. Are you looking at old paint or actual body damage?

I posted on this subject a while back. Had exactly those cracks along the edge of the hood surround and quite a few of them. Really did not want to gouge each out and refill. While some scoffed I used Superglue, the liquid kind, not gel. It penetrates deeply. Car has been repainted and driven and nary a crack is showing.

they look like this?

I would grind them down and repair with matting and resin. The super glue tip may work, but the cracks are still there. If you grind them out, the cracks are gone. Paint is too expensive to put on just to have cracks show up again.

with alan71.

Photo's are needed (if possible) due to where the cracks are located...will determine on what process is used for an optimum repair.

Also the repair will be determined when the crack is being prepped. If the fiberglass is flaking/chunking/chipping out when it is being ground out at a low/moderate speed with a grinder..would let me know that the fiberglass is stressed and its structure is weakened and would require more grinding further out from the crack until good parent fiberglass is found so a repair will adhere correctly.

the cracks look exactly like ignats.I did strip the paint and that is what I found.Like I said the car had a rough life. There are other cracks the require more work.like a little matting. The car was a complete bubba vehicle. The list is long. But I'm up for the challenge.I'll take pics tomorrow.
