Default Stuck Roller pilot bearing

I'm trying to get out the roller pilot bearing. I've got the tool that expands inside of it the type with 4 fingers (broke it) I've tried heating it, freezing it, cutting it with a body panel hack saw. The inner race is a hardend steel and the blades just go dull trying to cut it. Anyother idea's would be helpful.

Thanks

The GREASE TRICK will not work if you ahve destroyed the ability of teh input shaft to seal and cause the grease to force the beariing out.

Next step ill be possibly numerous dremel tool grinding tools to slowly grind it away.

OR...

Weld to the race and attach a dent puller to what you welded to the race and ****** it out that way. If your heat on your welder is high enough and you "get-in and out" fast enough the heat should not effect the crank.

OR...
Clean it very well and get in and out fast with a brazing rod. Super heat the race to cherry red...then step down the heat on the torch so you can braze without the volume of gas coming out of your torch being so great it just pushes you brass where you do not want it...attach something stout to it and braze it. The brass should hold as long as you cleaned it well first.

we used to weld a bead around the race at the trans shop, but those were bigger bearing.
some how the weld draws in toward the center and falls right out.

This is normally a two minute job. Fill the bearing full of grease. Take an old input shaft and put it in the bearing. Hit the input shaft with a BFH. (Big hammer) The hydraulic pressure will drive the bearing back out of the cavity. When you get to the point that the bearing bottoms out against the input shaft, add more grease and keep going until the bearing pops out. Unfortunately you may not be able to do this if you've damaged the bearing to the point that it won't hold the pressure of the grease.

Default Another suggestion....

Another suggestion for you and maybe you already tried this, get a slide hammer at harbor freight. I get a lot of frozen bearings, racings ect out using a slide hammer. Also, a good and cheap penetrant that I learned about here from a machinist study on best penetrants is a 50/50 mix of acetone and automatic transmission fluid.

Hope this might help.

I'm using a slide hammer. But it broke. So I got a bigger one from snap on and the first pull broke that one too! WTF but the good news was it moved the bearing was able to get that basterd out of there with a smaller one. Thanks for the advice guys.
