The little vacuum switch that sits under the dash btwn drivers knees...mine doesn't do anything, totally stationary. Should it push, pull, rotate...?thanx :seeya
Re: Headlite override switch- how does it work? (Pacin'California)
You pull it (down), it's not as easy to pull as the headlight switch on the dash, but don't pull too hard. I've already broken a headlight switch pulling too hard :cry
Re: Headlite override switch- how does it work? (Buffalo Dude)
If it is stuck, you might try reaching up and holding the upper part of it with your left hand while pulling down on the end of it with your right hand. A sharp tug with right hand only could yank the whole switch out from under the dash, or break it in 2 pieces.. :( MJ
Re: Headlite override switch- how does it work? (Stevo)
(Just in case...)
There are four switches under my dash ('69). From left to right they are: trip odometer reset (by itself), headlight override, wiper electrical override, wiper door override.
Pull down either of the vacuum switches, and the respective part opens. Turn the "****" and the wipers freeze wherever they are in travel.

Oh, ya...it was real Stuck...but came loose and works ok now. I didn't check the price on the little bugger, just said a prayer and pulled hard...thanx
