I was just having a discussion with a buddy and this question came up. "What happens if you put a non-power brake master cylinder on a power brake car?"
I did a search and read of times when a power MC had been put on a non power car and you had to stand on the pedal. I did not see any post about what would happen if you went the other way.
Inquiring minds would like to know! TIA
That's an old hod rodding trick that's supposed to make the car brake harder.
My 69 BB with power brakes had a non power MC on it that I replaced with a power MC.
I didn't really notice that much of a change.
Braking becomes more sensitive. The larger piston bore diameter will reduce the pedal effort for the same amount of brake line pressure.
If your power brakes aren't sensitive enough, it's worth a try. But, that may be masking another problem in your brake system. (ie, flex hoses at each caliper might be 'toast' inside the hose... )
