I recently replaced my rear compartment doors and pulls. Does anyone have a picture of how they are supposed to look? Alan? The way the loop is anchored is nopt the way they were originally on there. Just trying to find out what wat they should be?
Hi Mike,
Foe some reason the loops on my 71 seem to be a little further away from the push-button than the ones in Mike's picture.
I don't know if they varied? maybe? Could it just be the angle of the picture? As long as the loop clears the button's bezel I'd think you'll be fine.
Regards,
Alan
Not to hijack thread. But Alan looking at ur ohoto of the inside of door. curious to configuration of that side of the screw. looks like a washer and the nut. I'm seeing diff versions of this configuration. screw and just nut. Screw, washer and nut, screw, star washer and nut. Now i know the guy doing this at the factory could just keeping grabbing whatever he wanted. But does anyone else have any photos of a stock underside of storage door.
Hi 72,
That's an original door and hardware in the picture.
The 71 AIM clearly shows and lists a flat washer, lock washer, and nut.
My mid-January built 71 didn't have the lock washers. The flat washers have a light gray phosphate plating on them, as do the nuts. I believe that if a star type lock washer had ever been there it would have left some 'tracks' on the surface of the lock washer.
I really don't know how typical no lock washers might have been?
Regards,
Alan
