transmission swap
I would like to find out what is involved in a 350 to 700r4 swap in my 76?

you can reuse the tranny yolk ,and shorten the drive shaft a little .you will need a TV cable and the bracket to mount the TV cable to the carb.holley makes the TV bracket .B&M makes a converter lockup switch kit .shift works makes the shifter gate to convert your current shifter .get a corvette servo for the 700r4 you install.you will need the correct speedo gear in the tranny tail shaft to keep your speedo accurate .they are a couple or companies that sell the conversion kits .

Will the transmission crossmember need to be modified/moved....... since the 700R4 is a little longer?

Bowtie Overdrives makes a nice bolt in cross member for this swap.

It should be mentioned that I read the 200r4 like the ones used in the monte carlos will fit without any driveshaft or crossmember mods...

Already have a 700r4 rebuilt & ready to swap out

I used the Bowtie Overdrive crossmember in my 75 for my 700r4, perfect fit, nice product. And were helpful on the phone with tech questions.
