you can reuse the tranny yolk ,and shorten the drive shaft a little .you will need a TV cable and the bracket to mount the TV cable to the carb.holley makes the TV bracket .B&M makes a converter lockup switch kit .shift works makes the shifter gate to convert your current shifter .get a corvette servo for the 700r4 you install.you will need the correct speedo gear in the tranny tail shaft to keep your speedo accurate .they are a couple or companies that sell the conversion kits .

Thanks garygnu.....I needed the same info.

Will the transmission crossmember need to be modified/moved....... since the 700R4 is a little longer?

The cross member will need to be modified, but not moved.

You can buy some that are pretty and work well.

Here's what I did to mine. Some will call it a hack job, but it's strong and has worked well for quite a while with some decent beatings. ...

The link is to an old truck site I frequent. The language is crappy and there is a lot of stuff you won't care about, but the crossmember is in there.

It should be mentioned that I read the 200r4 like the ones used in the monte carlos will fit without any driveshaft or crossmember mods...

I used the Bowtie Overdrive crossmember in my 75 for my 700r4, perfect fit, nice product. And were helpful on the phone with tech questions.
