We supply interior parts to the c-5 program and we are getting a request to extend the balance out date by 10 months so I assume the C-6 is being delayed a year.
We only supply interior trim parts for the c-5 and declined to bid on the c-6 since we took it at a loss to prove we could sequence parts. I believe the c-5 was supposed end at the end of the 2003 model year.
I'm hearing Lutz got the designers to start over once he saw the C6. Hopefully he can bring back some bold styling and a smaller more nimble car for us - at a Chevrolet price!
Read the latest issue of Road & Track to get some current background on the C6. By the way, when I saw the artist's rendering, I went :U :U :U :U :U :U :U :U
Remember the vette is no longer a sports car, it is more of a status symbol geared toward upper income people who usually want less of a far out design. Not so say there are not great cars just have strayed from how they started out. I hope they decide to stick the 383 crank from the HT383 in a verson. It would be really  to have a different engine not just a better engine to upgrade to. Plus I think it could compete with the vipor a little better. 500 horse stroker with a stinger hood design. :yesnod:
I recently read a short article in the local paper business section that GM wants the newer Vette to appeal to the Europeans? What's with that? If that's the case the Vette has truly strayed from it's heritage as an American Sports Car! Roger L. Gibbons
The C6 needs to go "Rat"....That will end all doubts..454 with a Hilborn injection..right from the box on DOT tires and run low 10s...That would be sweeeeet...

That would be awesome- I hate the fact that there is a $36,000 Mustang that can keep up with the Vette, and perhaps even pass it! A BB, or even 427 Small block with a Blower or turbo could be done for less money than a Viper and be faster:)
Then performance wise, Corvette would be in the same league as some $150k+ exotics, Like the ZR-1 was in it's hey day.
The C6 is delayed. It is a 2005 model year. The Motor Trend article didn’t have anything specific. I think it was all Public Relations. The C6 will be a enhancement and refinement of C5 according to Mr. Dave Hill. I don't think the pictures in Motor Trend are all that realistic, they are too similar to the ones they had earlier. My understanding that the C6 will look faster, fell faster and be faster.
As far as I'm concerned, Chevrolet lost it big time.
C-4 and C-5 Corvettes are a BIG    to me.
For GOD'S SAKE, GM, ease off on the pencil necks and put some real gearheads back in charge over there! You really need to return to "King of the Hill" days like we had with the big block C-2's and C-3's .
Now THERE was a Corvette. NOTHING came close- for brute power, for unmistakeable style, for excitement- before or since. Screw the Euros; screw the PC crowd- America needs to please Americans first. My 2c.
