HI ALL, I HAVE A 69 VETTE+ I WILL BE REPLACING THE DASH PAD, CAN I USE A 70 PAD IN A 69 VETTE SO I CAN PUT THE SPEAKERS FROM THE KICKS TO THE DASH PAD, IF SO I READ ON WILLCOX WEB YOU NEED TO USE THE EPEAKER BRACKETS, CAN I MAKE SOME? or if ALAN71 HAS SOME PIC. OF HIS DASH , BECAUSE HIS PIC. ARE GREAT FROM HIS CAR RAY
Hi r69,
I really think you need to buy a set of the brackets. Some of the vendors that have used parts should have them at a reasonable price.
The bracket is needed to attach the speakers to the dash pad.
You can JUST see the edge of it in these pictures. It's dark gray metal, just to the rear outer side of the speaker itself. You can see the bracket is what has the studs that the speaker fastens to with speed nuts.
Good luck!
Regards,
Alan
I'm doing the same thing to my 69 right now. You'll need to get rid of the 69 dash brace and use the little sheet metal brace for the 70 dash. I had the 70 speaker brackets and a set of 4 x 6 pioneers speakers bolted up pretty good. I'm putting the same speakers in the kick panels too.

Ray.. the brackets are getting harder and harder to find, they were cast and soft metal. The studs tend to break off of them. Fleabay might be a choice. I know of no reason you couldn't put the 70 pad in there.
Hi ray,
I'd try googling Gee Auto Sales (Gee's Corvette) - Middlebury Center, Pennsylvania.
Gale Gee has a lot of Corvette parts in addition to being a nice guy.

Alan

LOL, I installed Infinity 6 1/2" shallow mounts in the kick panels, 10" Alpine sub and a JL Audio amp. Sidepipes with MaxFlo's are doing their best to drown out the music! Awesome sound when the engine is shut off
